This is a wonderful walking stick with a great story! It was made for Syria Shrine Temple of Pittsburgh, PA with a very unique feature… the tip was made of celluloid and would “light up” when turned on so the Shriner who owned it could hail a cab from the curb after a Temple meeting, movie or opera in downtown Pittsburgh. The inside of the stick is hollowed out to hold the battery that powered it. A ring on the outer band turned from right to left and visa versa to turn it on/off. Not many of these sticks survived the test of time because if you dropped it, or it fell over, the celluloid tip would shatter. The tip was a beautiful amber color when lighted and was engraved with the Syria Temple name and Shrine emblem.
